Project: High Storrs School - Sheffield

High Storrs School in Sheffield, a 1930’s Grade II listed building has been extensively refurbished and extended under the Building Schools for the Future program.

Datim worked closely with the contractors, client, architects, and English Heritage throughout this project.  Original solid bronze pull handles, push plates, knobsets, bolts and the fretwork door grilles seen here were stripped of many coats of paint and re-polished to their former glory.  Items that could not be salvaged were reproduced in solid bronze to match.

By contrast, the new sport hall and classroom blocks were fitted out with heavy duty satin anodised aluminium hardware throughout.  Access control is provided across the site by a single Master keyed cylinder system, incorporating sub suites for each area and user group.
